Casera Razzo – Val Pesarina
AUTHENTIC LAKES AND MOUNTAINS
Cycle up a fabulous gorge and see the mountains getting ever closer to each other as you climb, until you find yourself squeezed between two rocky walls, linked only by a dam 135 metres tall. From there, admire an emerald green lake at the foot of majestic mountains just waiting to be climbed. Head towards them, marvelling at the meadows carpeted with flowers and studded with pretty huts.
Enter the most typical and highest (1400 m) municipality in the Carnic Alps: Sauris, the undisputed leader in the production of prosciutto and beer. Climb to Casera Razzo at 1900 metres (GPM in the 2014 Giro d’Italia) with its wonderful “heavenly view” bench.
Finally, plunge into the PESARINA VALLEY with a visit to Pesariis, where time itself is the protagonist, with clocks in every corner of the pretty little streets.
It this isn’t the most beautiful of the Silent Alps BikExperience routes, it’s definitely one of the most fascinating, allowing you to experience the most authentic Carnia on two wheels.
