Sella Chianzutan – Valle di Preone

A DIVE INTO THE VALLEY OF BEARS

This extraordinary route includes one of the gentlest and most beautiful climbs in the 2020 Giro d’Italia: the one that leads to Sella Chianzutan from Tolmezzo, the undisputed capital of Carnia.

Having left this lovely town behind, the route will take you through the untouched nature of a 14.5 km climb, divided into two sections.

The first section leads to Villa di Verzegnis, in its lush valley full of apple orchards. The second climbs to the pass, where it starts the descent towards the Preone valley.

As you glide down into the valley, we guarantee you’ll thank us for giving you this complete immersion in nature wilder than you’d ever imagined!

As you glide down into the valley, we guarantee you’ll thank us for giving you this complete immersion in nature wilder than you’d ever imagined!
An explosion of green, the marvellous luxuriance of water when you hear the Arzino river burst out of its spring and crash down its magnificent waterfalls.

And you’ll see all this as you cycle on the velvet-smooth asphalt of a deserted road.

What do you say, shall we go?
